Obituary

Benney Rebecca (Becky) Hyler McKinney, 84, born March 24, 1936 to Charles Hyler and Annie Mae Ensley Hyler in Valdese, North Carolina, passed away May 29, 2020 at Legacy House in Marion County, Ocala, Florida.

Becky proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse, later achieved her Associates in Science Degree and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in various aspects of nursing, mainly pediatrics, retiring from the State of Florida Children’s Medical Services. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and traveling.

Becky was preceded in death by both parents and her husband of 27 years, Arthur Paul McKinney. She was the youngest of four children, all of her siblings preceded her in death.

Becky is survived by her children, Arthur Paul McKinney Jr. (Marlene), Rebecca Jean Holness (Chris), and Michael Charles McKinney (Laura). Becky is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Christie McKinney, Michael McKinney Jr. (Kayla), Kylie Collins, Matthew McKinney, Alta McKinney, Paige Holness, Michaela Collins, Merrick Holness, Jacob McKinney, Jonathon McKinney, and Aleah McKinney.

A Graveside Blessing will be held 2PM, Friday, June 5, 2020 at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th Street, Ocala, Florida 34474, with Chaplain Herb Agee officiating.

The United States Navy will be in attendance to render military honors in recognition of Becky's dedicated service to a grateful Nation.
