James (Jim) Henry Lucas January 1942 – March 2020 a resident of Ocala, Florida since 1986. Jim lost his battle with related cancer interventions and passed away at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Jim was born in Kissimmee, Florida, lived in Orlando, Florida, and graduated from Boone High School. He held a bachelor’s from Wofford College, in Spartanburg South Carolina where he was also a linebacker on the football team.
He was one of three sons to the late Mack Wesley Lucas and Hazel Julia Smith Lucas. He was the husband of Linda Holland Lucas for almost 46 years. Jim will be remembered by his surviving brothers Lawrence Lucas and Lloyd Dean Lucas. Jim is survived by his wife Linda, and his children Matthew Whitaker Lucas, Brendie Leigh Lucas, and James Bradford Lucas. He is also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim lived for his family and looked forward to seeing his grandchildren grow up. He was a man of faith, and he knew who held his life in His hands.
Jim touched the lives of many people with his social conversation, humor, and historical stories that he shared. His service was held at his home with his family on Friday March 20, 2020 in Ocala, Florida.
