Marleen Wilcheck Wiersum, 82, born November 10, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away March 22, 2020 in Ocala Florida.

In 1957 Marleen moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she taught at St. Helen School prior to entering the Carmelite Monastery. Then in 1973 she moved to Ocala, Florida where she worked as Teacher and later the Principal at Golden Hills Academy. In addition, Marleen taught at Blessed Trinity Catholic School, Hale Academy, and as an Adjunct Professor in Education at St. Leo University.

Marleen received her Bachelor's Degree from St. John College, Cleveland, Ohio, a Master Degree in Education from University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida as well as a Master Degree in Education from St. Leo University, Ocala, Florida.

Marleen is preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick (Fred) Wiersum in Ocala, Florida. Fred was a Thoroughbred Horse Owner & Businessman; father, Carl Wilcheck, Cleveland, Ohio; mother, Norma Wilcheck Richardson , Ocala, Florida; brothers, Ronald R. Wilcheck, (Carolyn) and William B. Wilcheck (Vicki).

Marleen is survived by her sister, Michele Wilcheck Mattingly (Joseph), Louisville, Kentucky; loving stepdaughter, Suzanne Wiersum, Michigan; step-son, Lawrence Wiersum; grandson, David Wiersum; Step-son Lawrence Wiersum; numerous nieces, nephews and many other Wiersum family members in Michigan that dealy loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th Street, Ocala, Florida 34471 with Father Patrick J. Sheedy officiating. The burial will immediately follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens, 5050 SW 20th Street, Ocala, Florida 34474.
