Patricia Degidio, 85, born April 14, 1935 in Providence, Rhode Island to Joseph Ambrose Eaton and Grace Porter Darling Eaton, passed away November 6, 2020 at Legacy House Hospice in Marion County, Ocala, Florida.
She was the beloved wife of Louis Degidio, Jr. They were married for 64 years. She is also survived by her children Michael (Debbie Barone), Jamestown, RI; Raymond, Narragansett, RI; Russell (Kim), Homosassa, FL; and Jo-anne Holleran (Bill), Ocala, FL. Patricia was the proud Nana to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was known by Patsy as a child and then as Pat or Trish as an adult. She was Aunty Pat to her beloved nieces and nephews and Nana Trish to the grandchildren she cherished.
Education was very important to Trish. She delayed her dream of a college education to marry and raise a family, taking classes when she could. Before retiring from the University of Rhode Island in 1999, she earned her BA in 1992 and her MA in 1997. She was very proud that her daughter, two grandchildren, and nieces and nephews are also URI graduates.
Trish loved to dance. She and Lou were often found on a dance floor, usually with Ginny and Jimmy or Matt and Mary Louise! She also loved to entertain whether it was summer by the pool or her famous Christmas open house. Trish and Lou would transform their entire house with Christmas decorations and then fill it with family, friends, and food. She continued the tradition on a smaller scale when she and Lou moved to FL in 1999.
Her children never had to ask if there was enough food to bring a friend home! Everyone was always welcome.
