Obituary for Paul Goodwin Purinton

PAUL G PURINTON 96 was born 6/10/24 in Grand Junction, CO. He was the son of Rev Wallace S and Ollie B Purinton. He passed away 01/11/21 in the care of Hospice at Estelle’s House in Ocala, FL after a brief illness. While attending U-High HS in Normal, IL, he entered the Army Signal Corps in 1943. He served in both the European and Pacific theaters. After an honorable discharge in 1946 he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia G Lawrence, and both graduated from Drake University, Des Moines, IA. He first entered the teaching field, then moved on to his true profession, Sales. Beginning at Pfizer and followed by the boating industry, he ended his career with 20 years at Advance Machine Co. In 2002, after retirement, Paul & Patricia moved from Pompano Beach, FL to Oak Run in Ocala, FL but in 2008 he lost his angel in life and wife of 60 years who passed away in the care of Hospice at the Legacy House. He was then blessed to meet the lady that would mend is heart, Barbara Rosen, also of Oak Run, and started a second joyful journey in life. They enjoyed a special 10 years of marriage until she passed just 9 days prior to his passing. He is survived by 2 sons, P. Gregory (Carmen Stewart) and W. Steve (Roxanne Glidden); 3 grandchildren, Rick, Joe, and Tricia (John Sweeney); and 2 great-grandchildren. Paul will be buried with military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
