Obituary

Richard Edward Brasington (Dick) passed away on August 17, 2020 after an extended episode
with Alzheimers. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 9, 2020 at Highland Memorial Park,Ocala, Fl. at 12:00 Noon.

Born in Claire Michigan in 1923, to Glen Allen and Hazel Rawson Brasington, Richard
migrated with his family to Live Oak Florida in the mid to late 1920s. More promising
opportunities in agriculture in another family migration to Anthony, Florida where live subjected
Richard to “the school at Anthony”, getting his GED, the WW ii draft, diversion to the
Army Air Force, OCS, gunnery school, flight school, navigation school, bomber school,
C 47, B 29, duty in the Panama Canal Zone, state side service, Berlin Airlift, DD-214,
test pilot with Hayes Aircraft Corp. of Birmingham, Alabama, commercial airline pilot with
Southern Airways and Republic Airlines retiring before they became part of Northwest and
\ then Delta, DC 3, M 404, DC 9, rounding out his aviation career, */- 28000 hours, as a
flight instructor in Valdosta, Georgia. Then it was time for golf and “whatever”.

His residences for the last thirty years have included Pavo, Georgia, Jasper, Florida, and
Ocala, Florida.

Richard was preceded from this life by his wife Dorothy Jean Hardee Brasington, 3 brothers
and 1 sister. He is survived by at least one son, a grandson, 1 brother, two sisters and a
multitude of nieces and nephews in various degrees of original, great, and/or grandness.

A Graveside Blessing will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Highland Memorial Park with Rev. James Maubach officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a request is made to instead make a donation to a cause of one”s choice. Be
it hot meals, or research, or soccer balls, we can make a difference.
