Obituary

Thomas George Taylor, 74, born March 3, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to George Taylor and Theresa (Urane) Taylor, and passed away on April 27, 2020 in Ocala, Florida.

After graduating from Detroit Cooley High School in 1965, Thomas entered the armed forces and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, and leaving the service after fighting proudly for his country in December of 1971. Tom was an avid golfer who loved getting out on the course with friends. A lifelong member of the Catholic church, Tom was a man of faith and strong convictions who was a great and trusted friend for so many. Tom worked for General Motors for over 32 years in plants throughout Michigan in Detroit, Three Rivers, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids as well as finishing his career in Fort Wayne, Indiana—retiring on December 31st, 2006. He loved travelling and exploring America and was able to take many wonderful trips with his wife, family and friends during his retirement.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Thomas, also known as Tom, is survived by his wife Marilyn, and two children: daughter Amy (Taylor) Ruiz and her husband Michael, their five children Jessa and Nicklaus Marchand as well as Grace, Kato, and Calleigh Ruiz; son Timothy and his wife Razelle, and their children Matthew, Trey, Azsae, Caymene, and grandson Silas; his sister Aggie (Taylor) Issacson, her husband John, and their two daughters Kim Issacson (her daughter Maddie) and Kristen Spano, her husband Nick, and their two children Lucas and Sofia; as well as his brother-in-law Ty Miller and his wife Willan, and their children Shannon (husband Chris and children Kristen, Skylar, & Xavier), Rebecca (children Dustyn, Hunter, Nicholas) as well as a number of cousins and large extended family.

A Memorial Service will be held time 2:00pm, Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Roberts Bruce Chapel West with Reverend Bradley Snyder, officiating.
